We've delivered and shipped to customers all over the U.S., from Maine to Florida to California to Alaska, and will soon offer shipment or delivery to Western Europe. Since this furniture travels in the form of relatively small components that are easy to pad and box up, it is very well suited to being shipped economically and safely. When we deliver the furniture, we bring it into your room (in the form of mostly flat components) and assemble it.
We personally deliver almost
all orders from customers located between Virginia in the south
and southwest, the New York City suburbs in the north,
Philadelphis suburbs in the west, and sometimes to the Boston
area or more distant locations. Large orders or multiple orders
going to the same area sometimes take us into the U.S. heartland.
If the customer is outside of our delivery area and receives our furniture via trucking company, he or she is expected to assemble it, with the aid of an instruction sheet we provide. The only time a customer had real difficulty (that we heard about) was in 1999 before we added pictures to our instruction sheet. If you do encounter any problems, we invite you to call us on our 800 number. If you haven't already seen our page on construction details and assembly procedures, you are encouraged to click here. Two customers have suggested that we emphasize that our furniture is genuinely quick and easy to assemble, especially as compared with many assemble-it-yourself products on the market. An Illinois great-grandmother who received and assembled two of our 97" Custom 05 sofas in 2007 called and said, "At age 80, I assembled them by myself, except for getting help with two bolts from a friend, and they look great! The hardest part was flattening the boxes and taking them to the re-cycling center."
The total shipping charge for the two sofas pictured above, going over 5000 miles to customers in Barrow, Alaska in 2003, was only $800. (But, sorrry to say, shipping to the U.S. West Coast for two sofas isn't dramatically less than that, especially with current fuel surcharges). (Shown: 76" California model sofas with 31" height, Light Fruitwood finish, and extra-heavy-duty stock fabric)
