We make contemporary sofas, loveseats, chairs and custom sectional couches that are comfortable, durable, space-saving, and almost always a perfect fit for your room. This seating is ideal for any living room, family room or other room where comfortable, practical sofas and loveseats are needed. Each contemporary couch or chair is firm, medium firm or soft according to customer choice. They are easy to slipcover, with optional exposed-wood sofa frames that are nearly indestructible. We offer very long sofas, very small (short) couches and loveseats, and many sizes in between, as well as narrow, medium and oversize (wide) chairs, as well as extra-high sofas and chairs. Every upholstered or wood sofa, loveseat or chair has the simplicity of design of contemporary or modern sofas and couches; however, especially with darker wood colors and our unlimited fabric selection, these sofas and chairs can also blend well with traditional or other decors. They can all be disassembled and reassembled to fit into almost any room, even a long sofa, including into basements or attics that are accessible only through difficult, narrow entries.

Non-bulky sofas & chairs made to fit
Our loveseats, chairs and sofas are non-bulky, compact and well suited for small and medium-sized spaces (unless you choose our large-scaled options), We make every couch design in your choice of many lengths, and our standard frame depth is only about 33" (30" and 36" depths are options). This narrower-than-average, relatively small-scale sofa depth is still comfortable for most tall people (as well as for shorter people). .

All of our furniture is made in America, which is increasingly uncommon; and that's only one of many features (described later) that contribute to the eco-friendly nature of our products compared with imports shipped in from the other side of the world.

Our "Custom 05" contemporary sofa model (shown above right) comes with our very wide range of custom options along with heavy-duty hardwood frame construction, high-quality cushioning, and relative ease of replacing the fabric covers.. The custom options provide personalized comfort, optimum use of your space, and beautiful addition to your decor that can't be obtained with mass-market furniture. The quality construction and materials, along with economy of re-covering, provide long-term value as well as environmental benefits that aren't otherwise available. You won't need to order our small or less-deep (shallow) sofa dimensions in order to allow access via a narrow entry, since these couches arrive in the form of relatively flat components which are then easily bolted together. A new addition to our line: the New York model, which incorporates much of the practicality and comfortable support of our other models, with even more compact, space-saving sizes, but at substantially lower prices. This chair/sofa model is made in a modular construction, with individual units of three different widths, which can be joined side by side to make loveseats of three different compact sizes, sofas 68", 77" or 86" long, and also sectional couch arrangements in various small as well as medium and larger sizes. Our Exposed-Wood-Frame Sofa and Chair Models:
Ease of re-covering, combined with extra-sturdy, solid-hardwood structure, means that this furniture is especially renewable, sustainable, very cleanable (with hundreds of our fabrics), and economical in the long run. Each couch, loveseat or chair is made to order in your choice of thousands of fabrics (or provide your own), and many optional and custom dimensions are available for these couches. Also, every wood sofa or chair can be ordered in your choice of many wood finish colors. The structurally important parts of the exposed wood as well as the interior structure of every sofa are solid oak wood, with special custom finishes that produce a mild grain effect.

Our Florida contemporary wood sofa model (at the right and just below), like all of our other models, has comfortable, extra-durable cushioning and a sturdy hardwood frame, and it can be easily, economically re-covered. Long-term Economy: This results from nearly-indestructible construction combined with ease of replacing covers and cushions. Neatly-fitting replacement covers for one of our three-seat exposed-wood sofas (sorry, they don't fit other companies' sofas) are $210-$248, complete, in one of our base-priced fabrics, or in a range between those prices and up to $400 in a huge selection of fabrics (obviously, some fabrics are higher). If you know how much it costs to re-cover or reupholster ordinary sofas, and how often that would be needed in many cases, you can appreciate the long-term savings with this furniture. Replacement covers for our fully-upholstered sofa model would be higher than for our wooden-frame sofas, but still far less than neatly-fitting covers would cost for typical furniture. Entry into almost any room: All models are easy to disassemble for moving, as well as to re-assemble. Even large sectionals can be gotten into essentially any room, including rooms accessible only by narrow stairways or around tight corners. Heating/air conditioning efficiency: If you have a heat/air conditioning source located behind or below where a sofa will be located, you should compare our exposed-wood sofa frame designs, open at the bottom 5 - 6", with those of normal sofas. Our furniture can be ordered directly from the people who make it, without a middleman's markup, providing out-of-the-ordinary design, customization, and high-quality construction at prices similar to prices of much of the typical, disposable furniture on the market. In addition to ordering by phone or e-mail, many people come to our Fredericksburg, Virginia workshop/showroom, about 1 -1/2 miles off I-95, about 45 minutes south of the Washington beltway. But most of what we sell is to customers who have never visited our showroom, and the only major dissatisfacton we've heard of was as a result of a damaged shipment in 2001; aside from that, the only signs of dissatisfaction since then have been two ottomans returned, with prompt, full refunds in all three cases.
